The entire situation regarding Government's view of our health care is ludicrous. Period. Government hasn't seen fit to notice costs before...why should it now? Too many Government employees?

The Government employees are all covered by at least 6 different insurance companies. Most, and sometimes all, of the premiums are covered by the US Taxpayers (aka the US Government)

Even Medicare and I'm sure Medicaid also are handled by insurance companies...the Government is the middle man.

The BEST thing we could do is just get government out of the medical business. Most of the House and Senate members don't know their *** from a grape anyway.

For end of like issues, what could and should happen is that facilities should be made available at a very reasonable cost for people who from their own Living Will, don't want to continue living for whatever reason. Hospice does a wonderful job and most probably, many people would make that decision on their own, without government interference, IF there was someplace to go to just have basic care and pain meds as needed.

The very fact that Bioethics people want to intrude on what is a personal matter is repugnant to the extreme.
