<<"Military vs. Non-Military Durable Goods in Pictures

Sometimes a chart is nearly all you need to understand the story. This is one of those times. ...

Now that chart looks like something pulled out of the old 1970's Soviet Union style economy...

...now we just need some nice photos of bubushkas in long lines fighting for scarce consumer non-discretionary items to go along with that for deja- vu.

I'm amazed that someone actually thought about making that graph..

But it does tend to support the argument that the demand created by military spending, both prior to WWII, and now, are frightening parallels.

I truly hope that our political leaders are not leaning toward the idea of military conflict as a way out.

But it's the Chinese that I might worry about more.

They have a surplus of young men that they might not want to have to take care up in retirement.

I know.. it's sounds too conspiratorial. But don't put anything past the power elite in their respective countries.

A really terrific chart!

The first "stimulus plan" designed by madmen to "keep America strong".

A war combined with a real estate bubble and bizarrely massive levels of government spending on a no-bid basis.

This unbelievable triad has achieved destructive results which exceeded anything Osama bin Laden could ever have dreamed of.
