The 'European Model' viewed as the ultimate goal by O and his lib supporters calls for tax hikes on everybody. No free lunch here and even the Teds of this country know that.

Not likely. The press will try their best to spin it in Obama's favor. Maybe they'll portary the backlash the same way they did the "tea parties." Just a bunch of "right-wing fringe kooks" ...

Iowa gov welcomes surprising tax revenue figure

(AP:DES MOINES, Iowa) Iowa's new budget year is off to a good start with tax revenue in July more than $4 million ahead of last year.

The 1.2 percent growth over July 2008 came amid projections that tax collections would drop by 0.1 percent during this fiscal year, which began July 1.

Iowa Gov. Chet Culver says the figures could be a sign the economy is turning around and that some credit should be given to an $830 million jobs and infrastructure program he pushed through the Legislature.

State figures show that although personal income taxes dropped last month, that decline was offset by an increase in sales taxes.

Republican State Auditor David Vaudt says the figures are welcome but that, "one month never tells you a complete story.
