The pumping has been going on for a long time to keep the pits dry. I believe the water table cone of depression is over 10 miles across. Its done from wells. I think the Post-Betze pit is designed for about 1,700 feet. The underground mines take advantage of the dewatering for the pits along the trend. EVG is between the Gold Quarry and Rain, but so is the Humboldt River. At 3,000-4,000 feet it's a different game. It is going to be real hot down there and everyone knows it. They must know the mud temperature on the hole and the downhole survey truck can also run a temperature log.

Things have been getting a little frothy with EVG, so I threw the wet blanket. It looks like a very smart group though.
