"In light of what you say, I am somewhat disappointed in Obama since he is the one who should simplify things. At the same time, the loud opposition need to quit their tactics and get together with the people to get a good bill. Or else we will have the bill as is since the Democrats have the numbers or will soon do to get the bill through."

You are right about the Dems having the votes. The problem as I see it is neither side is being honest about their intentions. Reps and conservatives want no change, although they profess otherwise and Dems are trying to use the bill as a pathway to a Single payer system, which I think would be a disaster. So it looks to me like pass what Dems want or no bill are the likely outcomes.

In many ways this is more about idealogy rather than getting a bill. Nothing wrong with that by the way. Unlike others I think ideaology is important, but so is honest debate. It is almost impossible to sort through the competing claims and the reasons for them.

Damn talking points. I would like to strangle whoever came up with that idea.
