Oh Geezzzz...."advance the cause of freedom" Yes...we advanced the cause of freedom in Iraq and now we have a country of Shiites that hate our guts. If we advanced the cause of freedom in the U.S. and the fundamentalist protestants were the majority they'd be stoning suspected gays in the streets. (And that'd be O.K.) They had "democracy" in mid 1930's Germany and there wasn't a real big vote AGAINST locking up the Jews. "Democracy" didn't have any problem with locking up Japanese Americans during WWII.
