Paul,
I noticed the same thing. The new Wall St. thinking recognizes hold as sell. Because of the obvious ties of brokerage firms to secondaries and investment banking a sell would cut the analysts firm off from income and access to many companies, not just the company with the "sell" but many companies would't trust the analyst.
Hold means SELL in Wall St jargon.

To all,

I was just watching the AVNT tick during this recent 3 point run down and find it interesting that large blocks were being sold at 27 when the bid was 27 15/16. Then the bid was at 27 3/4 and the selling was at 27 3/8. Someone is trying to dump a lot of shares. About 100K was sold in less than 5 minutes.

Following that, it's been all buying (smaller amounts).
