When did the number of characters allowed in user names drop from 30 to 20? About 10 years ago I PMed Bob and asked how many characters were allowed, he answered he'd let me know soon. Next thing I know my user name was 012345678901234567890123456789 and then it went back to Joe B. Next I get a PM from Bob "30". If isn't something Bob did can it be reversed? I know it's low priority but changing it back is probably simple.

could you tell us all, why it is, mike shedlock can promote his commercial web site with total freedom on SI, but no one else can do the same? if there is some variance in the TOS/TOU rules that allow it, I have quite a number of commercial ventures I'd like to promote to the SI readership/membership myself. Please advise on this issue. Many thanks in advance. Long time SI member.

Message 25916561 and look how he does it, with the, i wanna share with you some emails. the tou, as i understand it, has no problem with sharing anything you want,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but HERE, not on his money making web site. so can i do this too bob? DAVE? can WE do it too?
