This problem can be solved for a few billion a year if that is a big deal. There is no evidence it is, however.

It is expensive. But it is also the best. It saves lives that can't be saved by systems elsewhere because the tools and techniques are not available in other places.

I don't have a problem with paying a lot to have the best health care in the world. It just doesn't bother me. My 56 year old friend is currently undergoing treatment for colon cancer, and her insurance will pay every nickel of the $250,000 bill. But she has a reasonable chance of living another 20 or 30 years, a pretty much normal life as a result of it.

If she were anywhere else, the chances of a cure would be lower.

I just don't have a problem with having access to the best health care in the world, even if I'm paying $15K/year to get it.
