I heard a bit on NPR today about what happens to the clunkers after they get traded in. They drain the oil from the engine, then start it and rev the engine until the motor seizes. The guy said it takes anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes for the engines to lock up. Clunker permanently retired!

I guess they didn't use Slick 50!
