While it is true that the BTP was about more than just taxes (and I'm glad you've caught on to that), the thing that precipitated it was "taxation without representation".

Ultimately, an entity cannot impose a series of ever-increasing taxes on a people unilaterally. You can get a way with it for a while, but in the end you WILL have a tax revolt.

We may be seeing the beginnings of a tax revolt in this country today. It has not reached a critical mass yet, but it very well could happen.

Most Americans, when they understand what is at stake, will not stand up for more government spending. It is the administration's task to be sure they don't understand what is at stake.
