you may have a point about them wanting something for nothing.

Just saw that Obama is pushing through a grant for electric vehicle manufacturers.

so follow me on this logic....

Obama wants more electric cars.

Obama wants to eliminate coal power generation

Nobody seems to want more Nuclear power

Pretty much all of the rivers that could be dammed for power generation have already been dammed.

Natural gas power plants do not pollute as much as coal plants, but the byproduct of burning a carbon based substance is...CO2. So natural gas is still bad.

Petroleum power plants certainly don't buy us anything if we are trying to eliminate petroleum burning vehicles.

Solar and wind will never be able to provide more than a rounding error's worth of the power generation required for the U.S.

so...Why push for electric vehicles if we are simultaneously trying to dismantle the source of over 50% of our power and when we don't have anything that will do the job that we are willing to replace it with?

maybe they aren't thinking at all
