ObamaCare and me

The good Dr explained that the US Govt denied the medicine needed to prevent 3 kids from going blind.
That Medicaid example is not Health "CARE". It is Health "CONTROL".

Just maybe people across the nation will be outraged enough to stop this "Change" before we are all relegated to a life ended by government euthanasia.

I find it morally repugnant that the tree huggers, the spotted owl fanatics and the whale nuts, favor human abortion, a reduction in health care for the elderly, and unlimited illegal aliens.

What the hell is happening to my country?

Thanks. Great story.

Last night I had a conversation with a friend who is practicing Internal Medicine in Florida. A few days ago he saw a man with fever and abdominal pain. When the patient did not respond to the initial treatment, he sent him to have a CT scan. But - it wasn't so simple to do. First, he had to call the HMO, fill out forms, etc. After all this, the initial answer was that the CT was approved. However, next morning he received a notification that upon review the CT was denied.

The story reminded me why I gave up my practice of 25 years some 3 years ago. Not only they didn't pay enough, but even if you were willing to work cheap, they still made it impossible.

And then there is the other side of the story.

My FIL was a Pediatrician, and the only one around his area for years. He made house calls and eventually ended up running the Pediatric Center of the local hospital. He had a sterling reputation and in fact I just recently found a person on line......on an Eagle forum of all places......that he treated when she was a little girl. She contracted meningitis as a child and my FIL was called to her home because she was so ill. He immediately put her in his car and rushed her to the hospital. She told me "Doc _________ saved my life."

Isn't it a small world!

My FIL had a wonderful career, took care of thousands of children, and was a loving and caring doctor. Unfortunately, he retired early because he could not/ would not bare the cost of malpractice insurance.

IOW trial lawyers ran him out of business. Trial lawyers effectively ran a good doctor out of business, and the whole community suffered as a result.

Of course we've all noticed there is not one mention of reining in malpractice awards in the current Health Care Bill[s] circulating around the halls of Congress.

And of course, we all know why.
