And the possessed VCDs by Chinese are less than 20 million sets. However China now owns 400 million sets color TVs. If one color TV is matched with one VCD , the market for VCD is great. So far there are 386 VCD makers and another 600 VCD makers are applying for approval. Viewed from the VCD output, the supply can only meet two third to three fourth of the need. Foreign VCD makers aim to compete for the Chinese market.
