Thank you. These days I take care only of patients who are admitted to the hospital under my service, and only while I'm on duty. My days in private practice are gone.

WRT lawyers - I believe that gloves are coming off, and old alliances are on their way to get shattered. There is no way that a Universal healthcare system would support such a huge medico-legal industry. What will happen is that malpractice victims will be - in most cases - compensated through arbitration. And that is the way it should be NOW. The irony is that if we had it NOW, maybe there wouldn't be any talk about "reform".... :)

Frankly, if I were a malpractice litigator (or defender), if the reform passes, I'd look to diversify.
