Deep fried oysters are good - as long as the oysters used are good. At the Fish Market in San Diego I tried them once, no good at all. While too much breading that couldn't hide the fact that the basic animal used was cheap and no good stuff.
I love The Fish Market and in particular so it's great setting on San Diego bay - but fried oysters there, forget it.
Any average Japanese restaurant in town serves much better 'Kaki Fry'.

What I want to say is, that fried oysters and fried oysters isn't always the same thing - and some times even I would rather not indulge in the stuff.
