Regardless... the State officially certifies the document. (And various and appropriate State officials have repeatedly confirmed their certification and all of the information contained on the official birth certificate - even the Republican Governor.)

It was phonied-up for the exact same reason that the "Kenya tape recording" (that falsely claimed to show an elderly Obama relative from Kenya saying he was born there --- when the non-edited, full-length recording CLEARLY SHOWS the relative repeating over and over, against the interviewer's leading questions, that Obama was "born in the US", "in Hawaii") was phonied-up in editing: To MAKE DOUGH.
