This is out in the open and reflected in the Feds numbers.

There may also be hidden stuff, such as:

Market manipulation --
Making up the losses of the bullion banks that have been constantly shorting gold -- or even being the hidden customer doing he shorting.

This is done in conjunction with the ECB who buys and sells large amounts regularly to destabilize the price. This can be followed on the ECB balance sheet in retrospect.

And then there are timing issues. What's it worth to know when the Fed or ECB are going to make a trade?

Who are the blessed ones who get foreknowledge?

These are just a few of the reasons to fight the audit bill.
