The left like to stereotype moderates as conservatives and conservatives as zealots. They never seem to view thier own disorders of reality disassociation negatively.

Jim, they don't get "carte blanche" but they certainly DO get a lot more leeway than other industries.

There was a big fight over this new fighter jet. I believe the pentagon said they DIDN'T want it, but apparently congress fought for it anyway.

Then there was the thing about two "different" engines for the other fighter. There were arguments on both sides on that but I believe the "tipping" consideration was politics and the jobs involved.

I think our budget this year for defense is $636 Billion. If that ain't carte blanche then it's pretty darn close.

I'm pretty sure if Eisenhower were still alive he'd be considered a "Dirty Liberal" when it came to defense spending.
