Gib, I was a member of the United Nations Association decades ago and good old Hu Yao Bang [purged by China's bosses] came to NZ in the early 1980s and visited the UNA.

I have a UN flag in my attic and bring it out on occasion. I was about the only flag-waver during Clinton's visit and the TV crews thought it interesting enough to film me.

I'm all for a supranational government of a federal nature, not an overweening nanny state with Helen Clark creating Helengrad write large.

Decades ago, I had already thought that when I finally got the UN going, people will go stupid with it and I'll be leading the vanguard in opposition to Big Brother fanaticism.

< I never expected to hear Maurice advocating for the UN.>

That's because you deal in stereotypes and like to pigeon-hole people.
