Gib, you mistakenly think I have a phobia about socialism. <many who share your phobia of socialism think the UN is a commie conspiracy > A phobia is a fear which causes uncontrollable emotional reactions stemming from the amygdala [or something like that - Google would know the precise brain components which drive the reactions and maybe it's the limbic system].

I could quite cheerfully and politely have a conversation with Helen Clark and not get a raised pulse, dilated pupils, sweaty, shaky, or other phobic reaction.

These days, people often use the word phobia when they mean fear, but I don't have a fear of socialism either. I do very well in whatever system is enacted. Socialism is more of a problem for those at the bottom of the heap than those able to cope with its depredations. Mostly, those are the people who vote for it, like turkeys voting for an extra Xmas or Thanksgiving because the people running the celebrations promise them that many more turkeys will be needed to participate in the celebrations. I can skip town to Oz or elsewhere at the drop of a hat, if it gets too bad, leaving those voting for socialism to enjoy their celebrations.

Helen Clark is like the big bad wolf = a mythical beast who is better absent, a bit like Big Foot or the Abominable Snowman. So it doesn't matter how long since she was real. Some mythical creatures gather stature the longer they are departed.

There is no contradiction in my positions. <In reality I enjoy identifying contradictions.> You are surprised in the same way that racists might be surprised when they come across a Maori who isn't in prison. There is no contradiction in being a Maori and being a decent person. Your stereotype has been dinged. You are the one with contradictions and stereotypes; you socialists are all like that, dealing in stereotypes.

Being in favour of the United Nations doesn't mean being in favour of every wacky idea Helen Clark comes up with to blow another $billion in her new socialist kleptocratic empire.

Tradable citizenships would give socialists more information about what they cause. Citizens voting for free this that and the other from government would notice their "citizen value" going down each time bludgers score another $billion.
