Ted, I wish I could have been a fly on the wall where conversations took place between Laura Ling and the rest of her family. I can already imagine her mother berating her and telling her, "Why can't you be like your sister and just stay here in America?"

Then again, maybe the sister is the only one who could speak on Laura's behalf. I can't imagine Laura immediately wanting to talk about what she went through in front of the media.

From the sound of it, though, it seems like Laura and Euna were treated relatively well, despite being worried 24/7 about being sent to a labor camp. I guess not even North Korea was willing to risk having their political pawns die in captivity.
