Who've been violent have been the corporations. The Pinkertons were their favorite headbreakers, although once they bought some government clout, that shifted to the national guard and even the army. Just read some history. Andrew Carnegie did a lot more than just make steel and build libraries.

Google "Haymarket riots". And that event was hardly an outlier. Most unions, however, have never been violent except in the wild imaginations of wingnuts.

You're FOS. I was raised in a union town and when the strikes came, watch out. They would start forest fires, sabotage equipment, you name it.
