I doubt GM was run by R's. As I recall they were almost a liberal as GE. Though I may have then mixed with General Foods or some other General.

Yes, you've mixed it up with some other company. One of my friends was in middle mgmt at GM. They are all Rs. I think the country club kind but Rs nonetheless.
