The liberals on this thread have it figured out already. GM failed because of poor leadership and because they weren't making the "right" cars.

It should be really easy to change the company's direction, should it not? Just cancel the gas guzzlers and drive all production toward cars like the GM Volt and the Chevy Cobalt.

Also hire leaders with proven track records for success. A former head of AT&T who admits not knowing anything about cars is not a good sign.

The bottom line is that nothing has or will change at GM. This is what the government is good at. Reinforcing the status quo.
