Not only that but you probably missed all the unmarked cars/trucks. New Dodge Chargers, Chevy Impalas and Ford F150s.

I feel that way in the Conejo Valley (Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village area) here in So Cal. I've never seen so many cop cars and people pulled over. Mind you, we are in total suburbia out here, with virtually no low-income neighborhoods.

And DUI checkpoints are a regular occurrence on Friday nights, I've seen them start to set them up at 7:00, while rush hour is still winding down, creating huge backups.

The local Sheriff's substation claims that we have the safest neighborhoods (Agoura Hills ranks 41 out of top 100 safest cities), and I suppose that's true, I'm just surprised I've yet to get a ticket. I imagine ticket revenue is huge around here.

bc, i think it's like that in every municipality....i've noticed that since 9/11, the local police departments were beefed up dramatically, not only with personnel but with high tech weaponry.....they need to give those wonderful public servants a reason to justify their existence now, and it seems it comes down to harassing drivers for the most insignificant infractions...(like not using a blinker in a MERGE lane, yes, this happened to a friend of mine)

i also am seeing a dramatic increase in the size and architectural aspects of municipal buildings (seems like a new one is going up on every corner around here)

the parasite class is indeed doing well.....until they finally kill of their host that is, and some quite literally (police raids gone wrong)
