'Un-American' attacks can't derail health care debate Rejoice, my friends. I knew Pelosi was dumb as a bag of rocks before, but she has outdone herself with this one. Polls show a slight majority of Americans oppose Obamacare, so she has just called the MAJORITY of Americans un-American, no less. In other words: Shut up, she explained. Besides, the ironies of proclaiming yourself to be on the side of reasoned, informed debate immediately after you tried to jam the whole bill through Congress in three weeks with NO debate are hard to miss. Even Democrats are starting to notice. Read Eleanor Clift, for example. She sounds dispirited and she's begging Obama to step in and rally the troops. Even the ever-lefty BBC is gagging over the contradictions in the promises: It will do more! It will save money! No, it will be revenue-neutral! Don't listen to the CBO! We must reform the system from top to bottom or it will fail! But whatever piece of the system you like will remain untouched! It will impose best practices! But it won't ration! It won't cost you more! Unless you pay taxes! and so on and so forth...
