What do you think is a "reasonable floor," as SilentZ puts it? Government pays for your insurance? Food? House? Car? Well you know I'm for universal health care; enough said. Government does have a food stamp program... it works pretty good for some folks. House... well there is section 8 housing but it's mostly really crummy apartments. It works but it's got a really, really long wait. Very limited funds so it should probably be expanded especially in this environment. Car... no. I suppose your implication above was for everyone... which is again a strawman because nobody is proposing that. Nobody is proposing your, my or Z's living costs bu supported... and none of us would want them to. It's a ridiculous proposition. But for those that are really getting nailed by this economy sure I feel we, as a society should help them out.
