FDR declared bank holiday and devalued the US$ 40% during the Great Depression. It has been done before.

Puplava, Harry Schultz, and Bob Chapman have all commented that such a bank holiday/US$ devaluation is possible in next few months.

Would likely do wonders for US real estate, and thus banks holding excess REO properties.

Re: how does one just declare a 50% devaluation in the dollar overnight?

The FED prints up and offers to swap 2 dollars for however many Pounds, Euros, Renminbi, pesos, etc. that "the market" is offering to pay 1 dollar for. (remember, 50% down is 100% up)

Which deal would you take?

It's basically what the Chinese have been doing for many years (just not such a big difference).
