Would you stop working because you were forced to pay for my apartment, health care, and three adequate squares a day?

If I were still taking home a pretty good living despite that, yes, absolutely.

I am beginning to see that's a huge issue with the people opposed to health care reform. Some reporters have been able to speak reasonably with some of these opponents attending these townhalls. To a person they end up saying they don't want to pay for someone else's health care. Apparently, some of us don't see ourselves as one cohesive society.

I will have to ask my German friends if that's an issue that comes up in Germany as well.

I didn't say if.

At I my age, I've been working 35 years, I think it's only "fair" you support me. Aren't we already at two or three people paying for each person on social security, the way the democrats are going, soon you will be supporting me.

I doubt you'll be "taking home a pretty good living".
