Yes, but I think you haven't boiled it down to the most fundamental aspect of the issue. As usual you have missed the fundament. Ecuador doesn't matter. pffft! Just another Malaria infested jungle with resources we can't get at. Which rules out the Ecuadorians getting at them either, but not the Venezuelans/Russians. It boils down to this choice, do you want to have enuff gas in your Cadillac, or do you want to freeze in the dark this winter with Ecuador filled with nuclear missiles and Al Quaeda outposts? It's pretty simple isn't it. You need that Cadillac. You want that Cadillac. Damn it, that Cadillac is good for America. Can we look the other way while Ecuador becomes an oil smeared cesspool while women are assaulted in villages by evil teeth filing puppet soldiers of the CIA? Just look at the seat covers on that baby. What a ride. 9 miles to the gallon. Having a country of parrots and peasants you can take Life magazine pictures of.. $3.50 for the magazine. Riding a Cadillac around Houston with a couple babes on each arm -- Priceless.
