<You and Maurice scoff at poetry (I'm happy to be the catalyst that brings you together) but there is more to life than making a buck >

RHYME for the TIME.

"There's more to life than making bucks."
That cliche's so prosaic.
Getting rich is life's great joy,
While building the mosaic.

Poetic joy is not for cash,
It's for elucidation.
But money makes the world go round,
And builds a better nation.

Poets sit and starve and whine,
Begging to Helen Clark,
While real men build better things;
Ditches, poles, and arks.

Poets rhyme to score the chicks,
Hoping they will lay,
But girls like loot and lots of it,
At the end of the day.

Poetic poverty is silly,
Fine form funiculation,
Alliterative onomatopoeiac soup,
Pointless concatenation.

Go for cash which people pay
When you do something good.
Pass the buck and do it right,
For that is what you should.
