That we already have some welfare type programs isn't an argument that we should add more. VA and GI bill definitely not in that category though. Those are connected indirectly with the providing for the defense. As to the others, they're too well established to do away with and too many are dependent on them. That goes for free market style reforms of them too probably. All the more reason we shouldn't build new dependency programs. I see no hypocrisy on my part. But I do think its hypocritical for liberals to deny the socialist word when more socialism is really what they want.
