As a strong potential medical tourist, I can tell you the the flow is FROM the US, TO foreign destinations, many of which are beginning to specialize in certain procedures.

Admittedly, most of these are uninsured people fleeing the ridiculous cost of US health care, but many of the places are acquiring reputations as the place to go for certain surgeries. This will only accelerate in the future.

None of it surprises me. I have been reading the same thing for ten years now. Maybe the US was once at the forefront of medical health care but I don't think that's true any longer. Frankly, given my experiences over the past ten years, I would say we're no where near the top.......esp. when you factor in cost.
