The subject we were discussing was whether the government did things efficiently and less costly.

You asked me specifically:

"I am very interested in these government programs that you think are working so well. Maybe you could enlighten us."

No and it is becoming more and more of a problem in the east where the government instead of taking care of infrastructure spends it money on feel good programs. Every year in Baltimore, we have water and sewer lines which burst because they have not been maintained.

Your 'feel good program' is someone elses necesity. You ought to propose a tax increase to get better water services. I NEVER have a problam and my guess is 99% of the people never have a problem. Or do you suggest that a private company take over your water department?

As to questions related to the roads. I don't know about you but where I live it seems you are always passing roadworkers who are leaning on shovels.

Those are private sector contractors.

I can only assume you work for the government.

No never have. But I recognize all the things government does for me every day... so that I can be free to work and be creative.
