What's the point of the public option if it's just gonna compete with private insurers to "keep them honest?" Why not just have an assigned risk program and not create more inept government bureaucracy? The main problem Obama has is that he cannot logically explain his plan or agenda because he is really for a single payor, totally government run (and controlled) program that will control life and death of everyone in this country---except the uber elitists like himself and members of Congress. Were this not so, they would be able to give a clear presentation instead of changing the name of their plans (from health care reform to health insurance reform) or changing the villains in the piece from the doctors who needlessly tear out the tonsils of children just to make money to the evil Americans who are so un-American as to oppose President Obeyme and his cadre of whiny politicos.
