platelet aggregation is an effect of inflammation.

the more cellular inflammation you have, the more your platelets will tend to aggregate.

eicosanoids are hormones that control cellular inflammation (including platelet aggregation and vasodilation). since EPA in fish oil also inhibits platelet aggregation because it is an anti-inflammatory, too.

The primary eicosanoid derived from DGLA is PGE1, one of the most highly studied "good" eicosanoids as it is a very powerful vasodilator and inhibitor of platelet aggregation.
