In southwest Florida, the maximum allowable surgical fee for an amputation, under Medicare, is several hundred dollars. The hospital may be reimbursed $5,000-10,000, but $30,000-50,000 is a fantasy.

This is annoying. The Prez wants a revolution in healthcare, at the cost of trillions. How come with all the resources at his disposal he doesn't bother getting a little closer to facts?

50K an amputation? No Sir, not on this planet. Maybe.... under public option, some day... :)
