"Of course none of the bills call for one. They don't address the valid concerns about cost."

Well, according to Dr. Death, rationing end of life care for the elderly is unlikely to yield much in the way of cost savings. But, what does he know? After all, he is calling for, umm, now wait a minute...

Just one example of the many distortions that are floating around out there.

"That's what I love about the whole "death panel" stuff."

It is a red herring that derails rational discourse. So if your goal is to make sure nothing substantive is ever discussed, then this is the ticket.

CJ, > The only "death panels" are run by the insurance companies and staffed with bean counters. None of the existing bills call for one.

Of course none of the bills call for one. They don't address the valid concerns about cost. Just more empty promises that they can't pay for.

Obama has part of the cost covered. His staff is working on the rest of it. He has promised to find ways to cover the cost before the bill is enacted.

That's what I love about the whole "death panel" stuff. Both sides are distorting the truth, and for one side to call the other side "unhinged" is hypocritical. Which I'm seeing a lot of these days.

You do this all the time.......saying that both sides are distorting.......in that way, you neutralize the argument. So then, how are the Dems distorting this issue?

The whole discourse has gotten so weird that we have such nuttiness as seniors getting concerned about the government taking control of Medicare...

I love that as well. Maybe they too have valid concerns, that government can't promise Medicare for everyone. Or maybe they just don't want their entitlements affected in any way.

There you go.....you're doing exactly what others on the right like Grassley and Palin are doing. You know their concerns are not vaLid but you still say maybe their concerns are valid. You're playing a con's game.

So, are you FOR death panels or against them? Or, do you just want it both ways?
