Friendly Broker just callled - Rumor on trading floor. Dell & Compaq will miss quarterly numbers.

Interesting, Compaq quarter is already announced. I don't think traders follow any basic information, just the rumor of the moment is driving market. His doesn't this will happen. Interesting!!

When are Dell numbers out? Or, are they already out?

The cockroach got stepped on, and the traders are lost.

Going home now without looking at market. Will do that after dinner. Accutually worked today!

chen, yes, according to history cpq is in never never land.
but, then the latest idc and dataquest indciate that cpq is conquering the world.
Even the dellites couldn't refute cpq's growth to unbeleiveable market share and gross margins that over over 20% higher than dells.
the last time that someone had the kind of market share they have was in mid 80's with IBM.
I think Dell having to buy SMT boards is hurting since that cost a premium now.
Cpq has a premier SMT capability that is the envy of even the Japanese.
