And... over WHAT TIME HORIZON are you making your predictions that "green" energy technologies will be "marginally profitable"? (Wind... to pick just one technology out of a hat, seems perfectly profitable right now, assuming that transmission facilities are available... and geothermal is often an extremely reliable and low-cost power option in various suitable parts of the world. Thermal solar, sited correctly, is already cost-competitive with many conventional alternatives. Certainly when compared to non-renewables which will only increase in price with resource depletion.)
