Sugar Alliance is an American thing. Sugar grower officials during a Senate Ag Committee hearing last week told panel members that the current U.S. sugar program is "working well" and that the "no cost sugar policy should be extended." Jack Roney, American Sugar Alliance (ASA) director of economic and policy analysis, said the policy has helped keep sugar prices low and stable. Roney asked the panel to either extend or reinstate the current policy. The ASA and the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) held press briefings on the issue last week.

Has nothing to do with sugar producers.
