akidron, the resistance numbers came from briefing.com, they were
not my projections. Has any non-Schwab-customer been able to
access the briefing.com link?

akidron,

I bought AMAT quite some tome ago when it would have been considered an incredible value based on the P/E ratio. I have a very long time horizon so I will be a holder of AMAT (and a few other companies) unless there is a reason to believe the outlook for the company has changed. It doesn't look as though this will happed based on the good prospects for 1998 - posted by Tom.

Having said that, I also trade (a little) but I am not a good timer of market / stock price movements. Trading is an area that I will improve at because there is money to be made from volatility.

Regards,

Michael

its just my humble opinion, but I don't think there's a chance in this world of amat hitting 60-65 THIS MONTH... 45 after really great earnings, with all the nervousness in the market will be the greatest time to buy puts... and guess what... I'm very bullish long term on amat... but no way in this world it will hit 65 this month... and I'm long the stock, long the nov 37.5's and short nov 30 puts.... but at 45 or near there after good/great earnings, I'll buy jan 45 puts... good luck
