The real problem all boils down to cost. No one really believes that Obamacare will eventually reduce health care costs. Not even Krugman, I suspect.

You are the one who doesn't get it...Krugman, like many of us, is not as concerned about cost as you are...we are more interested in social order...he notes, as have many of us, that republicans are backstabbing cowards, like Grassley for example...and he further notes that Obama should give up on bi-partisanship and show some outrage of his own.

There is no Obamacare yet. But there are options on the table that could come out of Congress that Obama could support that I'm pretty sure would cut costs over the long term. I'm just not confident that they're politically viable.
