donc, yes, you can get a blood test to measure your AA/EPA ratio. The target is 1.5 based on population studies (the healthiest Japanese are healthiest people in the world and their AA/EPA ratio averages about 1.5).

of note is ADHD children often have AA/EPA ratios off the chart - in the 30 to 40+ range.

i haven't done the testing b/c i've done so well zoning and taking the maintenance dose of 2.5g EPA/DHA per day. if the price drops or something changes, i'll eventually take the test.

my TG/HDL is well below 1 - which means my insulin output is within a healthy "zone". this is important because it means less delta-5-desaturase is activated and and i reduce excess cellular inflammation.
