I must have missed something. I don't remember any of the Carter kids, Reagan kids, Chelsea or the Bush twins taking 2 week trips to Paris and London accompanied by a full White House entourage, nor any other "vacation" in the U.S. with the taxpayers picking up the tab. Used to work with a man who viewed his job from the point of view of the perqs. He used to plan business meetings around places his wife wanted to visit, even if it meant others had to travel to the same spot, which was always a resort destination. Fly there on a Wednesday, hold a morning meeting Thursday and take Friday as a travel day even though he wouldn't return until Monday morning. Went on for years until it finally caught up with him. He'd had a couple of early successes and learned how to delegate authority so he did very little actual work.
