That was the impression I had also from my reading and listening. When I heard it I was skeptical.

Seems that skepticism was the correct response. AARP has imo usually gone for the socialistic oriented response.

There may be another reason--------AARP has its insurance programs-----that are run by some of the same companies that run health insurance programs for corporations and supplemental insurance for individuals on SS.

I would presume that Obama has had representatives of AARP sitting in on meetings at some level----------if not Obama then the Democrat Party which has long wanted government control over medical decisions.
