"The biggest is the public option."

Totally agree! Just as the Post Office doesn't drive Fed Ex or UPS out of business, neither would a public option.

If we didn't HAVE the Post Office, mailing a letter would cost at least a dollar (more likely FIVE), and mail to rural addresses, even small towns, wouldn't be happening at all.

Z, > It will keep the private companies honest, saving people money, and also will give people that currently have medical insurance the ability to seek preventative care rather than only getting emergency care.

There is nothing about the "public option" that will keep private companies "honest." Democrats will continue to vilify private insurance until they get to the promised land of single-payer.

Plus there is no cost-savings associated with preventative care. That's another myth that's being pushed by Democrats who try and oversimplify the cost picture for political purposes.
