The White Oak Growth fund has ASND as one of the top 2 NW holdings behind CSCO. Copying a page from IBM and INTC, ASND could have announced an extra buy back program with $507.47 MM Cash, Cash Equivalents and Short-Term Investments which could raise its enterprise value (plus $85.668 MM in long-term investments) in a takeover. I noticed that ASND's AR is $236.478 MM which represents a significant backlog at the end of 9/97.

From the tale of the tape, institutional investors are largely responsible for selling ASND, not small investors. A good 9704 qtr would draw the herds back. The Oct sale is good so far, an encouraging sign with a large AR at the end of 9/97.
