Ed:

Actually, I was planning on congratulating you on that "honest" post but I was afraid to be accused of ganging up with someone else to "downgrade" this stock. Lately, this board has become a M-rah-rah-VC board and no intelligent discussion can take place.

Well for now, I am gratified to take the titles of venom, parasite and cockroach for being critical of the stock/company, but I am having fun and proud of it.

Mike

<<Could this perception of "flatness" be the cause of the current weakness in MRVC?>>

Yes, I think so. The analysts seemed positive but not thrilled.
Q3 was soft for many companies in Europe. Also, Noam and mgt had
to be somewhat distracted by the secondary and roadshow. I don't
think you can read much of anything into Q3. Remember the FE/GE
market is supposed to grow 40 times over 1997 by 1999!
The demand for optical will continue to grow indefinitely as well.

Take advantage of weakness - I still have 55 calls bought on Friday
and Monday (mostly Monday).

Ed,

Thanks for the post re:sequential sales growth. I get the same numbers. I do not know whether the acquisition affects the number in 3rd quarter '96. However, if you look at EPS sequential growth 2nd to 3rd qtr., it is approx. the same in '97 as '96 (around 9%).

Also, I think sales growth in the MegaSwitch II, in 1996, could have affected the comparison of the 3rd quarter numbers, though I am uncertain of this. Anyone know if (and when) shipment of MegaSwitch II affects the comparison?
